Department Overview Mission statement International Commissioner 5/10/2018 8:32 AM Department Overview Mission statement International Commissioner International Committee The mission of the International Department of the Boy Scouts of America is to administer policies and programs involving the World Organization of the Scout Movement and to support BSA regions and councils in international activities. The International Commissioner is an officer of the Boy Scouts of America, and several have risen to become the President of the Boy Scouts of America. Currently our IC is Dan Ownby. Dan is also the International Committee Chairman and is serving his last year as Vice-Chair of the World Scout Committee. The International Committee is appointed by the International Commissioner who selects and approves members.

Also manages rules and regulations set by the State Department ESVP: Informs BSA membership of how to participate Suncheon: Process applications from BSA members, forward applications to Korea Scout Association. NSJ: work with chair of both teams International Representatives: providing IRs with International Department information. Philmont: works with IR Training Course Chair to develop syllabus, presentations, and organization of course International Scouter’s Award: Maintaining requirements as now all approvals for the award are from the council and recognition items are ordered from Supply International Spirit Award: maintains requirements World and Region Conferences: management and registration for BSA leadership to conferences
