Nations in the Crosshairs The Gentile nations are obligated by God to support and assist Israel when God reestablishes Her.
Nations are Obligated? Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, And declare in the coastlands afar off, And say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him And keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.” Jeremiah 31:10
Nations? Isaiah 57:14 And it will be said, “Build up, build up, prepare the way, Remove every obstacle out of the way of My people.”
J.C. Ryle 1858 These Promises are not yet exhausted.” “For one thing, charge every reader of this address to remember the special blessing which God has promised to all who care For Israel. Whatever a sneering world may say, the Jews are a people “beloved for their father’s sake” (Rom.11:28). Of Jerusalem it is written, “They shall prosper That love thee” (Psalm 122:6). Of Israel It is written, “Blessed Is He That Bless you, And Cursed is he That curses you” (Num. 24:9). These Promises are not yet exhausted.”
C.H. Spurgeon 1864 Speaking on Ezekiel 37:1-10, valley of dry Bones. “I wish never to learn the art of tearing God’s meaning out of his own words. If there be anything clear and plain, the literal sense and meaning of this passage a meaning not to be spirited or spiritualized away–must be evident that both the two and the ten tribes of Israel are to be restored to their own land, and that a king is to rule over them.”
Spurgeon 1864 “Israel is now blotted out from the map of nations; her sons are scattered far and wide; her daughters mourn beside all the rivers of the earth. Her sacred song is hushed; no king reigns in Jerusalem; she bringeth forth no governors among her tribes. But she is to be restored; she is to be restored “as from the Dead.”
Thus says the LORD concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel, “Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them. Then if they will really learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As the LORD lives,’ even as they taught My people to swear by Baal, they will be built up in the midst of My people. “And it will come about that after I have uprooted them, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land. Jer 12:14-17 But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares the LORD.
Jeremiah 30-33 218 times God gives details regarding the reestablishment of the nation of Israel. Six times God mentions the nations. 30:11, “I will destroy completely the nations where I have scattered you.” 31:7, “Shout among the chief of the nations proclaim, give praise and say, O Lord save your people the remnant of Israel.”
Jer. 30-33 31:10, Hear, declare 31:36, 33:24, Israel always a nation before the Lord. 33:9, ‘It will be to Me a name of joy, praise and glory before all the nations of the earth which will hear of all the good that I do for them, and they will fear and tremble because of all the good and all the peace that I make for it.’
Jer.30-33 Restore: to repent, going back to the way it should be! 26X’s in these four chapters. Restore the fortunes of Israel and Judah! 7X’s 30:3, 18 31:23, 32:44 33:7, 11, 26.
On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; And give Him no rest until He establishes And makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Is.62:7 On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the LORD, take no rest for yourselves; Application: Pray Isaiah 62:1, 6-7 with me. For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet, Until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, And her salvation like a torch that is burning.
