Korean War 25 June 1950 – 27 July 1953 North Korea – Communist country (Soviet and Chinese ally) South Korea- Capitalist country (American ally) North Korea wanted Korea to become one country. It invaded South Korea in what became known as the Korean War. Several years of bloody fighting continued. China even invaded when the U.S. got close to its border. In the end an Armistice, end to fighting, kept the separation of Korea to this day.
