Review, HWK check Monday, October 31, 2016

Unit: Field Forces Monday, 10/31 The diagram below represents two objects having masses and charges equal to each other. Pick up a note card. Pick up your work from the back left lab table. Write the equation for analyzing the gravitational force. Write the equation for analyzing the electrical force. How is the gravitational and electrical forces similar? How are they different? Upcoming important dates Note: every day you will have either a HWK check or HWK quiz. Monday, 10/31 – last day to re-test to an 85 for Dynamic forces unit. Monday, 10/31 – unit review due and unit quiz Tuesday, 11/1 – last day to turn in missing field forces work (by 4:00 PM) Wednesday, 11/2 – field forces unit test

Warm-up review The diagram below represents two objects having masses and charges equal to each other. Write the equation for analyzing the gravitational force. Write the equation for analyzing the electrical force. How is the gravitational and electrical forces similar? How are they different? Was the relationship between mass/charge to radius discussed? Was there a connection between size of the mass/charge and the magnitude of the field strength? Was attraction and repulsion discussed?

Electrical Force HWK

Homework check Take out your review. Place your review on the back lab table that corresponds to your row number.

Homework Check Write your name (small) in the upper left hand corner. Write your period (small) in the right hand corner. Write the following numbers on your card (leave room for answers). Take out your Electric force homework.

Practice

Homework Study for test

Cool Down 1. Write a question in which you would use the relationship Fg = Fcp. 2. What variables would you have to include in your question in order for someone to calculate the velocity of one of the objects?
