ONCE A MODEL OF INNOVATION When it was first built in the 1950’s, Humbertown was one of the most unique and contemporary shopping centres in Toronto. HUMBERTOWN, 1959 ONCE A MODEL OF INNOVATION

Although the proposal was supported by City staff, the community the proposal was strongly opposed by the community. Despite the extensive public controversy, we explored alternative strategies to continue to work collaboratively. We hosted two open houses to give us an opportunity to meet and hear directly from the public. Ultimately, the final master plan was unanimously supported by the local community in December 2013. The master plan was approved in January 2014 and is currently being carried out.
