A diphthong is more than a weird word. Diphthong means “2 sounds” in Greek. Diphthong = combination of vowel sounds. Por ejemplo: diet, flea, pound

What are the different sentence types? Declarative- Makes a statement. * Most sentences are declarative. Punctuated with a . Ejemplo: I have a pencil. → Yo tengo un lápiz. Interrogative- Asks a question. Punctuated with ¿? Ejemplo: Do you have a pencil? → ¿Tú tienes un lápiz? Exclamatory- Expresses emphasis and emotion. Punctuated with ¡! Ejemplo: I need a pencil! → ¡Yo necesito un lápiz! Negative- States that something is not true or is incorrect. Ejemplo: I do not have a pencil. →Yo no tengo un lápiz.

Punctuate correctly and capitalize each sentence.

Now, make you own conversation. I will pair you up, and you will make a basic conversation dialogue. Each partner will write a copy of the dialogue. Use only the words or phrases from yesterday’s Conversación Básica handout. Each dialogue must have each of the following with correct spelling and punctuation. 2 different Greetings Ask each others’ names and respond. Ask how each other is and respond. Say it is nice to meet you and respond. 2 different Farewells *Practice after you finish; we will perform these tomorrow. Now we’ll swap and help each other out.
