MaroonLink - Cashing in on MaroonLink 5/11/2018 Est. 2013 In January 2010 a group of DSA staff members gathered to discuss best practices for event planning and review our needs. The FOCUS was on event planning and everything associated with it… After over a year of meetings to discuss processes and protocols related to event planning – learning about all of the things that every department wanted in the way of review capability, approval options, etc. It was determined that to develop an application that would allow us to do what we (DSA) wanted it to do it would require: Over 810 hours & 2 years in development time; 1 year of testing with a product launch in year 4. $47,669 estimated development cost at a 5 year total cost 63,261 * This would not include additions, revisions or decommissioning related to current applications used or needed by all DSA departments. OR, DSA could invest in an off the shelf product called Collegiate Link that would eliminate the need for multiple databases and ultimately reduce the duplication of DSA IT monetary and staff expenses. In 2013 MaroonLink became a reality! MaroonLink is a lot like that new copier that you purchase. You buy it to make copies, but it has SO many more features that can be used. It does take time to determine what all of the features can do for you and your business practice.
