An adjective clarifies the meaning of a noun or pronouns by providing information about its appearance, location, and so on. An adjective is a word used to describe a noun or pronoun or to give it a more specific meaning. Examples: Green fields (what kind of fields?) That garden (which garden?) Six roses (How many roses?) Extensive rainfall (How much rainfall?) When an adjective modifies a noun, it usually precedes the noun. Occasionally, the adjective may follow the noun.
