This is how some of your Earth Science class will go. AIM This is how some of your Earth Science class will go. I will not spend a lot of time going over the classroom procedures in class, nor does anyone remember them when I do. This presentation serves as a resource for you to use whenever you need it. It is available for you to review as many times as is necessary and at your own learning pace. I expect you to learn this at home and practice it in class. This method of instruction is called “Flipping the Classroom” and I use it often, but never without a lot of support in the real classroom! You are accountable for your learning. If you don’t do it, you don’t learn it. Let’s Begin

Binder Set Up: Supplies Binder is for ES only- 1 small binder per quarter. Label the front EARTH SCIENCE with quarter, name, house color and class (Roy, G or Biv) ESRT (will be given to you in first week) in front pocket Hole-punch, ES folder and pencil case inside front flap All finished work gets hole punched and placed IN DATE ORDER (no dividers or sections) Comes to class every day.

Folder Set Up: Supplies Earth Science Name House color Class Due Today Folder is for ES only- any pocket folder will do Label the front with your name, house color and class (Roy, G or Biv) Any work that is due in the future goes in left side When it is finished it goes in the right side- ready to turn in! (name and class on it, 100% complete, neat and stapled) When items are returned or if it is not being collected, it goes IN DATE ORDER in your binder. IN THE HOLES! For this reason it is very important that every hand out or paper has your name on the left side and your class and the date on the right side. I recommend highlighting the date with a color you have chosen for each topic. Example Unit1/prologue = pink date, Unit2/Earth’s shape=blue date Comes to class every day. Supplies: Earth Science Name House color Class Due Today Works in Progress

Course Outline Quiz Supplies:

Course Outline Quiz Supplies: TBH: If you find that you are a repeat offender, this might not be the right time to take this course. TBH: Everyone spells it wrong  This can be troublesome when sending emails TBH: This can make a very lovely addition to your quarter grade. TBH: Late is late.

Course Outline Quiz Supplies: TBH: YOU are taking the course. YOU take responsibility for your late lab. TBH: 1200 minutes are required to sit for the Regents Exam. Failing labs do not count. If you do not make up the lab before the end of the quarter, the lab score =0 TBH: EEEk! This can really hurt you. Don’t let it happen. ZERO exceptions! This score is entered on the very last day of the quarter.

Course Outline Quiz Supplies: TBH: Yup! On a BYOD day! You can only use your phone in accordance with the assignment. Supplies: TBH: Be prepared! You’re going to need it every day! See me if you do not know how. TBH: It is the reason lab turn-in is so important! TBH: Do it now! This link is your study guide TBH: YES you are!
