NatSIP is a unique national partnership of professionals and voluntary organisations working with children and young people with sensory impairment (SI) and their families a partnership of people working together to improve outcomes for children and young people with sensory impairment through promoting collaborative working the strategic delivery partner for DfE, now with a contract to March 2018 which will include supporting the sensory impairment workforce, in their response to the Government agenda, to reach the ‘front line’ in education for CYP with SI from 0-25yrs

Contract 2016 -2017 Some web stats for www.natsip.org.uk: The Sensory Learning Hub (SLH) and ‘What Works’: There have been 2,549 visits to the Sensory Learning Hub since the first pages were launched in December 2016 (170% of the 1,500 visits target) There have been 1,826 visits to the Sensory Learning Hub since the formal launch of the ‘What Works’ databases on 8 March 2017 (122% of 1,500 target) The number of active users of the web portal as a whole was 1,365 at the end of the quarter, against a year-end target of 1,350 (101% of 1,350 target) There have been 489 active users of the Sensory Learning Hub (326% of 150 target) The NatSIP website: There have been 343 new user registrations on the web portal this quarter. 225 of these (66.5%) following the SLH launch publicity on 8/3/2017 The web portal as a whole has had some 61,688 visits over the year, serving 228,983 page views The document library has served 16,281 document downloads over the year

Contract 2017 – 18 Objective 1: To enhance the capacity and knowledge base of the front line workforce “Every teacher is a teacher of children with SEN and disabilities” 1.1 NatSIP website: Enhancements to the Sensory Learning Hub Development of What Works guides, including Technology Find a specialist - directory of where to find specialist advice Training calendar with links to both face to face training and webinars/ online courses A way to link to the website to provide simplified ‘to do’ tips 1.2 OnlineTraining: Recruiting more learners and schools/settings to OLT SI courses Include OLT FE module for HI and VI

To enhance the capacity and knowledge base of the front line workforce 1.3 Development of face to face training and support materials for SENCOs: SENCO training – super SENCO events with regional SENCO forums Approach SENCO qualification providers for slots on SENCO course for more general awareness 1.4 Develop a mainstream training pack: The mainstream school training pack - linked to online resources through the training hub 1.5 Promote the work being done by NHS England and Public Health England to create an awareness of the importance of hearing well and understanding the challenges faced by children who need additional support to hear Delivery of ‘Dangerous Decibels’ in 6 schools/colleges
