The Skull
The most complex bony structure of the skeleton is divided into two regions The cranium: -encloses and protects the brain -provides attachment sites for head and neck muscles The facial bones: -numerous functions including cavities for special sense organs of sight, smell and taste.

Parietal bones: coronal suture sagittal suture lambdoid suture squamous suture
Occipital bone: foramen magnum occipital condyles External occipital protuberance
Temporal bones: zygomatic process mandibular fossa external/internal acoutic meatus styloid process mastoid process jugular foramen Carotid canal
Sphenoid bone: (markings not on test) foramen spinosum foramen ovale foramen rotundum superior orbital fissure
Ethmoid bone: perpendicular plate middle nasal concha (not on test)
