A day with recess and lunch.. Recess every day before lunch Although recess is prior to lunch, school policy is no parents on playground We play in sand and mulch please wear closed-toe shoes Girls please wear shorts under skirts Lunch boxes Name on it and utensils (no leaks please) A personal note to your child is fun No sodas and one sweet treat please… eat healthy! Guest table You may come up to school and eat lunch at 11:00 Invite a friend to join you at the guest table Money in lunch account can be done online

A day with enrichments... PE, Art, Computer Lab, and Music Library On a six day rotation . Our class is split this year. They go in groups of five or six to music, art, or Library/Computers We go to PE as a class. Please wear sneakers on PE days (prefer every day) Library Read a story and check out one book Missing/lost books need to be purchased Keep book in backpack when not reading it. Watch the water bottles for leaks!

A day following rules... Behavior inside and outside the classroom. Earning potato points for pieces for Mr. Potato Head! They earn a trip to the treasure chet when its completed. Focus is on the rules, not the child. Positive reinforcement in practice! Weekly report sent home in red folder

A day is better with a snack! Class snack is served daily at 2 Each child brings their own snack Check with me about allergies. Provide substitution for birthday treats sent in by other students. Can eat uneaten lunch items from lunchbox Cannot be sugary and prefer no yogurt

A day that has check-ups... Assessment is generally individual Determines what has and hasn’t been mastered Report card assessment Graded on 3 point system Graded in enrichment Univseral Screening 3X this year Determines if your child needs extra support

A day celebrating a birthday... Name on announcements Go to office for birthday stick Sing happy birthday Can bring a special treat to celebrate Please drop off at office a store bought birthday cookie Same treat for all please Carpeting cautions Red juices not allowed No cupcakes and cookie cakes/cake No balloon policy

A day with conferences... Will schedule a conference with you soon after the first report card period You can request a conference at any time during the year Contact teacher to set up a time Conference period is at 1:00 or after 3:20pm You are encouraged to find a sitter for your child during a conference

The day is at an end... Dismissal Students are lined up by how they go home They go to their waiting area depending on transportation Dismissal is at 3:10 this year Please send a written note for any transportation changes. Pin it to the outside of their backpack. Call the front office ONLY if it is an emergency change.Do not send an email for a change.
