What We’re Learning This Month Reading: FACTS! FACTS! FACTS! Now that the ELA exam is behind us, let’s concentrate on facts. Students will explore nonfiction topics in science and social studies. Third graders will make connections between texts. Writing: I know… This month, Third graders will write informational pieces on topics that they will do research on. They will pick a topic, research it and write a proper report on it. It is going to be an AMAZING work! Math: Comparing Fractions This month, third graders are going to be studying how to compare fractions. For example: You have 4/6 of a personal pizza and your friend has 6/6 of a personal pizza, who has more pizza? Hmmmm? We are going to learn by using manipulatives and by drawing and solving our own problems. Social Studies: A along time ago.... After learning about important women during the month of March, third graders will be traveling back to Egypt and learning about the rich culture of this country. Students will learn about the mummification process and the Pharaohs. Science: Growing in Science This month we will begin our learning about how all living things grow, take in nutrients, breathe reproduce and eliminate waste. Note Every morning our wonderful cafeteria staff makes a delicious hot breakfast for your children. Please make sure they are here on time so they can enjoy breakfast with their friends and get ready for a fun day of learning.
