Welcome to English I Basic Mrs. Millett

Class Rules 1) Be respectful. 2) Be in class on time. 3) Be prepared. 4) No Cell Phones are to be used during class unless otherwise specified for a class activity. Cell phones will be placed in the cell phones pockets that is hung on the wall. 5) No Foul Language is allowed. 6) No food, drinks (except bottled water), candy, or gum in class. Bathroom Policy You will receive a restroom pass for each grading period. You will receive a stamp when you want to use the restroom. You must have my permission. You must carry classroom hall pass to leave classroom. You will be allowed 6 stamps on your pass for each grading period. If you have remaining squares, you will receive extra credit towards your grade at the end of each grading period. Class Rules

PRIDE Period PRIDE Period Wednesdays PRIDE Pass Golden Tickets To receive additional help and time to work on assignments and tests/quizzes. Wednesdays When there is a full week of school only PRIDE Pass Must get a PRIDE pass from the teacher you are going to before Wednesday Golden Tickets For students with a certain GPA Allows students to have “free time” in the Quad Freshmen won’t be allowed Golden Tickets until after 6 week grading period PRIDE Period

Class Supplies Required Supplies Optional Supplies Binder with loose-leaf college ruled paper Blue/Black pens Red pens for corrections Pencils Highlighters Spiral Notebooks (Supplied by me) to be brought to school each period Class Supplies Optional Supplies Colored pencils or markers. Bell Ringers will last 5-10 minutes depending on the assignment Monday Mistakes: Mechanics, Usage and Grammar Tuesday Terms: Vocabulary Wednesday Wise Words: What a quote means to you** (Only when there is no PRIDE period) Thursday Thoughts: Responding to video clips or situations Friday Figurative Language We will discuss/correct Bell Ringers when time is up I will stamp the completed daily Bell Ringer, before going over the answers with the class.
