How to use UCAS Progress This is your step by step guide on how to use ucas progress Ks4 2015 / 2016

www.ucasprogress.com This is the Log In page. You enter the Username and Password given to you. If you forget your user or password then you must get them from Mrs Smith or Miss Corbett. The first time you log in (or if you have had your password reset by Mrs Smith or Miss Corbett) you will need to reset your password by typing it twice to confirm and make sure you have typed it all in correctly.

www.ucasprogress.com This is your home page. Before you start to search you need to complete your profile. You need to click on the ‘Profile’ option to begin. Once you click on the ‘Profile’ option, you will see a list of sections that need completing. It is important that you start with the ‘Personal Information’ section. The ‘Qualifications’ section will be completed by Mrs Smith and Miss Corbett. If you have had any work experience, fill in the ‘Work Experience ‘section. If you have not, see Mrs Smith or Miss Corbett.

www.ucasprogress.com This is the section for your Personal Statement. This section will be made so much easier for you if you use the UCAS Progress Personal Statement worksheet given to you in form. Type each paragraph you have written on the sheet and add them all together. If you run out of time completing any of the sections make sure you click on the ‘Save Section’ option. If you have completed the section make sure you click on the ‘Complete Section’ option. IF YOU DO NOT YOU WILL LOSE YOUR WORK

www.ucasprogress.com Now begins the search! Once you have selected the ‘Complete Section’ Option, you will see that a green tick appears next to the Profile title. This means that Mrs Smith and Miss Corbett can check this and ‘approve’ the section as completed from their own log ins. Each time you type or change something, Mrs Smith and Miss Corbett will be notified on their log in. Then they have to approve this again. Once the profile is completed and approved, you can start to look for colleges courses and apprenticeships! Now begins the search!

www.ucasprogress.com Now you need to search for what you are looking for Type in your home postcode here Here is where you type the college, school, sixth form or training provider you would like to apply for Here is where you type in the subject or course you would like to search for * Either search for a course or a place. Do not fill both search boxes as it really limits your search. Once you have typed in a search, you will be shown a list of options. All you need to do is click on ‘Add To Favourites’. Once you do this, this option will save onto your profile.

www.ucasprogress.com Once you have selected your courses and they have hi-lighted as ‘favourites’, return to your home screen and select the ‘Applications’ option Once you are in the ‘Applications’ section , you click on the ‘Start a new Application’ option. This will take you to a page where you can click on your options again. Each college or training provider will have a different way of applying. All you need to do is follow their instructions and select the ‘Submit’ button. Then you have applied!

www.ucasprogress.com Remember; UCAS Progress is a website that is completely new to you. Be patient and it really will help you when you are applying Each Student will need a Profile completed Each Student will have support from the Careers Team (Mrs Smith and Miss Corbett) Tracking your applications will explained to you in your sessions with the Careers Team If you have any questions then talk to the Careers Team
