All Absences and Field Trips: All students shall be given an opportunity to make up work for full-earned credit and grade for ALL absences and field trips. Make-up work must be submitted within two days, not including the day of return, for each day of an absence. Previously assigned work is due the day of return. Under extenuating circumstances and at the school’s discretion, additional time may be allowed. 2. Middle Schools: Make-up work for credit and grade is allowed for ALL absences due to the statutory promotion requirements to high school and the impact on course recovery. Make-up work must be submitted within two days, not including the day of return, for each day of an unexcused absence. Previously assigned work is due the day of return. Under extenuating circumstances and at the school’s discretion, additional time may be allowed.

HOMEWORK POLICY Students can expect to have homework assigned for each class, (with written and/or Online Coursework or My.hrw.com). Homework is graded on effort, showing all your work, and accuracy. Online Coursework, a web-based program, will be assigned as homework to reinforcement after a concept has been introduced. Late homework accepted with excused absence. 2 days to complete for full credit. Two homework grades will be dropped each quarter to allow for those times that you just can’t get it done. Note: Students will not receive credit unless their work steps are clearly shown. No Work=No Credit.

Calculator Policy GEM6: Students will not be allowed to use a calculator on 6th Grade Standards. This will help them to strengthen their mental math skills and prepare them for the FSA. They cannot use a calculator on the 6th Grade FSA. However, in some 7th and 8th grade standards are allowed. Pre-Algebra: Students will be allowed to use a scientific calculator on some Standards.
