What is FEDERALISM? The United States (Federal) Government Ohio Indiana Government California Government Montana Government Maryland Government Local Government Local Government Local Government Local Government Local Government * In a FEDERAL SYSTEM OF GOVT, the FEDERAL GOVT grants it’s member states a significant amount of power, duties and responsibly but subordinates them to the FEDERAL GOVT in certain cases * * While the U.S. is federal, the STATES themselves are UNITARY – local gov’t has only the authority granted to it by the STATE GOVT under their state constitution or by legislative acts *
