RAILWAY LEVEL CROSSING GATE OPERATION REMOTELY BY ANDROID Under the Guidance of Submitted by

ABSTRACT The project is designed to achieve control over the railway level crossing gate through Android Application by the station master. The proposed system rules out the need of any human involvement at the railway level crossing. This system involves opening and closing of the level crossing gate with help of an Android Application Device.

COMPARISION OF ANDROID WITH OTHER OS ANDROID OS : Android is open source software, manufacturers can modify the operating system to suit their respective needs and phones. This becomes a cheap and feasible alternative for the manufacturer, as opposed to developing an operating system in-house or hiring a software company to do it.

Compilers are programs used to convert a High Level Language to object code. Desktop compilers produce an output object code for the underlying microprocessor, but not for other microprocessors.

i.e the programs written in one of the HLL like ‘C’ will compile the code to run on the system for a particular processor like x86 (underlying microprocessor in the computer). For example compilers for Dos platform is different from the Compilers for Unix platform  So if one wants to define a compiler then compiler is a program that translates source code into object code.
