Quick Start for Apple iPhone/Ipad February 2017 You require a Memorial Exchange account to use Skype for Business Your Memorial exchange account needs to be Skype enabled to use Skype for Business – contact ITS at 864-4595 for details on requesting this activation Ensure your iPad or iPhone is running OS 8.1 or higher Search App store on your device for “Skype for Business” Select free Download and then OPEN the Skype for Business (formerly Lync 2013) app and follow install instructions When downloaded and installed, the icon for the app will appear on your mobile device as Skype for Business 2015 is available as an app for your mobile Apple devices. By downloading the Skype for Business app onto your iPhone/iPad devices, you open options to integrate and communicate through Skype while you are away from your desktop. The following is a guideline for installing Skype for Business on your Apple iPad/iPhone mobile device. Here are some FIRST considerations to be aware of: Business
Download and Install screens 3. Startup screens appear 1. Tap to download app 2. Once downloaded to your device, OPEN the app for initial setup Press OK to continue to initial Sign In screens. There are 2 options for Memorial Skype for Business users:
Option 1 for Sign in Where MUN Login ID matches the email address If a user’s MUN Login ID matches their email address there are no special instructions are required. i.e. where MUN Login ID: XXX35 and e-mail: XXX35@mun.ca are same just sign in using the XXX35@mun.ca /password combination Option 1 for Sign in Where MUN Login ID matches the email address
NOTE: If a user’s MUN Login does not match their e-mail address Advanced options entries are required on mobile devices. i.e. MUN Login ID Userid:XXX35 and email: XXXXX@mun.ca Use XXXXX@mun.ca as Organization Sign in address then go to Advanced Options and enter memorial/XXX35 under User Name then enter password Option 2 for Sign in Where MUN Login ID does not match the email address
Even though Skype for Business is not integrated with the Memorial Telephone system, you will need to enter your area code and cell number
Tap to see calendar only At first glance the user can : Tap to see contacts only view current calendar events search/add new contacts to create your contact list see who is available for instant message or online chat Tap to join Skype meeting
Calendar Only View See just the calendar for upcoming meetings to join. Simply click the “JOIN” option when meeting time arrives and you will be connected to your Skype meeting on your mobile device Contacts List Only View See your created contacts list and their current on line availibilty status Instant Message/video chat any of them by double clicking on name (see next slide)
