Mrs. Barone Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 Welcome! Mrs. Barone Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 Certified to teach grades 7-12 This is my 14th year teaching Taught 3 years at CD East High School Fifth year at CD East Middle School

Textbooks Textbooks will remain in the classroom. Students may sign out a textbook to keep at home. Supplies Three-ring binder or Notebook (Don’t do notebook checks.) Calculator – scientific is O.K. Pencils/Pens (no colored gel pens)

Classwork – 25% of total grade Quizzes – 25% of total grade Grades Three Categories: Classwork – 25% of total grade Quizzes – 25% of total grade Tests – 50% of total grade Algebra 1 students must maintain an 85% average each marking period to move to geometry Pre-Algebra students must have at least an 80% average at the end of the year to move to Algebra 1.

25% of the student’s grade Classwork 25% of the student’s grade 3 days to complete Most nights Posted on website and in the room Graded on effort Must attempt every problem for full credit Reviewed daily but may not be graded!!! Free Homework Pass for Birthdays!!!

Quizzes and Tests 75% of the student’s grade All quizzes and tests are announced in advance All quizzes and tests are worth 100 points Study Guides with all Chapter Tests Quizzes-receive partial credit for correct work Tests (District Assessments) No partial or extra credit Cannot drop the lowest grade Cannot leave the classroom

Retake Exams A students may retake a District Assessment no more than once per semester. Students must attend math help or meet with the teacher to retake a District Assessment A students cannot earn more than 70% on a retake exam.

Absences Students are given missed work when they return 3 days to complete work Students may need to coordinate to stay after school to get assistance with new material.
