Grades Throughout the Year Conferences will be a time to go over your student’s testing data, and discuss goals to work on before the report card. Report cards are sent out 2 times in the year (January and June). Grades ideally should go up throughout the year. State Assessment Smarter Balanced Assessments in math and language arts will take place in April and May. The test is aligned to the Common Core standards. Spooner

State Assessment 5th grade will take the OAKS science assessment in the early spring. The test will assess their knowledge of the science taught in grades 3, 4 and 5. 5th grade content instruction will focus on science after finishing the Biztown economics unit. We will return to social studies later in the spring. Spooner
