By: Spencer Eidsmoe and Josh Secord Hank Aaron The barrier is broken By: Spencer Eidsmoe and Josh Secord

One letter said that he would be the most hated man if he broke Babe Ruth's home run record One fact that we found was that Hank Aaron received three thousand letters a day threatening to kill him and his family. Hank Aaron said “there is no way to measure the affect that those letters had on me but I like to think that every one of them added a home run to my total.” Hank Aaron wrote book I had a Hammer

He was born on the 5th of February in 1934. He was born in Mobile Alabama. He played for the Atlanta Braves. His real name was Henry Aaron. He hit seven hundred and fifty five home runs the previous record was seven hundred and fourteen.

Hank Aaron went to college at the Allen Institute, Seattle Washington Hank Aaron went to college at the Allen Institute, Seattle Washington. Graduated in 1951. In the negro league he played for the Indianapolis Clowns. Hank Aaron had seven siblings.

Hank Aaron helped break the color barrier because he showed the fans of major league baseball that a black player could be just as good at baseball as a white ones. Even though he got death threats he didn’t care he always was trying. We think that he was only getting threats because, a lot of discrimination was going on at that time and people didn’t think that everyone was equal when in the constitution they are.

The whites were judging him by his color but the outside doesn’t matter the inside does.

thanks to Hank Aaron and all the other African Americans for breaking these barriers for us it takes bravery, courage, and heart , and thanks to them now the game of baseball is equal to all races.
