To support a sustainable, confident and resourceful voluntary and community sector that can work alongside the public and private sector to deliver the best outcomes for Southwark residents. To sustain and build strong, cohesive communities where no one group or community is left behind. To improve outcomes for residents that reduces and prevents future demand on high cost, high demand services.

In five years we said we would… Create better partnership working to improve outcomes for residents Improve commissioning and grant giving to focus on outcomes Use community assets to revitalise communities & create preventative places Enable and support more resilient communities that are connected and more resourceful

Partnerships | ideas Set of core principles outlining standards for working together, early engagement, co-design and collaboration Support Southwark Giving and other ways to get better partnerships with business. Open up access to data across agencies to assist service design, funding applications and measurement of outcomes Change approaches to co-design, early engagement and collaborative commissioning, VCS supported to work together.

Commissioning | ideas New strategic commissioning board improve coordination of VCS commissioning and collaborative commissioning New grants programme: longer term grants and shorter term innovation grants Create a common outcomes framework that will provide a core set of outcomes aligned to CCG and Council priorities Develop a specification for an online platform that is designed around the needs of the individual

Community assets | ideas Identify and develop premises for VCS incubation in conjunction with the development of the short term innovation grants. Review 2008 Statement of Community Involvement Review engagement exercises pre consultation Revised Community Asset Transfer approach is in place and promoted across the sector.
