Essential Skills Wales Level 1 Communication Evidence required for Essential Skills Communication Level 1 As part of your NVQ/qualification you need to provide evidence of your Communication Skills at level 1. You will need to: Take part in two group discussions* and provide preparatory notes as evidence. There should be at least two other persons involved in the discussions. You must speak to communicate feelings, opinions, information, questions and instructions over the two discussions. Read, understand and obtain information from two documents (one document must be 250+ words long)**. The reading documents must be of different types and have different purposes. Write two short documents of different types. One of your written documents must be at least 250 words. Provide evidence of planning by specifying why you are writing the document(s) and to whom you are writing e.g. tutor, employer. Produce a draft and final copy of each document. The draft should show that you have checked for mistakes in your spelling and grammar. The writing should be structured and the meaning made clear. * one of the discussions can take place during your NVQ class providing you have made preparatory notes and your NVQ assessor/lecturer can give a witness statement. another discussion could be evidenced as a witness statement from you manager. The statement should stipulate the reason for and who took part in the discussion e.g. feedback from an assessment and/or team meeting.
