Consonant Blends

Spray = Verb; to be sent in the air in the form of fine drops. Example: The gardener sprays water on the plants Likable = Adjective; like, easy to like. Example: Amira is a likable girl.

Street = Noun; a public road. Example: In the morning, the school’s street is very busy.

Sprint = Verb; to run very fast. Antonym: Walk Example: The student sprints to catch the school bus.

Stripe = Noun; a line of color that is different than the colors around it. Example: Zebras have black and white stripes.

Screen = Noun; the T.V. or the computer surface on which we see images. Example: Wow, this is a big T.V. screen.

Strong = Adjective; difficult to break or damage. Antonym: Weak Example: Metals are very strong, they are very hard to break.

Spring = Noun; season of the year. Example: In the spring, flowers have wonderful colors.

Stray = Verb; to be lost away from a group Example: The child strayed from his mother, and he couldn’t find her.

Scream = verb; to make a loud sound or cry. Example: My baby brother is very hungry, he is screaming so loud.

Strike = Verb; to hit with hand Example: The boxer strikes the attacker very hard.

Spread = Verb; place on a large area. Example: I like to spread the jam on my toast.

String = Noun; a thin rope Example: We must tight the balloons with strings.

Sprout = Verb; to start to grow. Example: The flower sprouts in the spring.

Scratch = Verb; to use the nails on your hand to rub your skin. Example: I scratched the insect bite on my arm.

Stream = Noun; a flow of water, small river. Example: The animals are drinking from the stream.
