On Thursdays, your child will be taking story assessments over the weekly stories, so he/she needs to review the vocabulary words at home on Wednesday nights. Your child will not be allowed to use his/her book on the vocabulary portion of the assessment, however, he/she can use his/her reader on the comprehension portion of the test. On Fridays, your child will be assessed over the weekly skills. This assessment may look different from the cold-reading assessments he/she took in third grade. The company has updated the format to look more like what your child will see on the ISTEP+ Test. We have completed many of these questions together as a class prior to the class being assessed using this type of format. Please review the weekly tests with your child when the assessments come home. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. If your child is interested in running to be a Student Council Representative for our class, he/she needs to write a paragraph describing why he/she would make a great representative. This will be due Friday – our class will vote on Friday! Good Luck!!
