3rd Grade Lesson 9 Spelling Words Vowel Sound “ou” and “ow”

Vowel Sound ou and ow For example: Town Couch The vowels sounds ou and ow both can make the sound like in town. Think of the sound “Ow!” people make when something hurts them to know what this sounds like. For example: Town Couch

clown Having a clown around can be fun!

round All of these objects are round, or in the shape of a circle.

bow After actors perform or when someone meets an opponent in karate, they give a bow.

cloud This cloud is in the shape of a heart!

power When you plug something in to the wall, it gets power so it can be turned on.

crown Kings and queens wear a crown on their head.

sound People wear these kinds of headphones because they make music sound really good.
