Sextant into European projects The infrastructure provides a unique framework to federate descriptions and access to marine data products processed in various contexts, at national level (French MSFD) or European level for DG research (SeaDataNet), DG Mare (EMODNET) and DG Growth (Copernicus MEMS). Emodnet Sextant catalogue - current status A products catalogue to coordinate and to promote the project data outcomes : 152 public products in the catalogue for eutrophication Granularity : a description by region, by parameter, by season E.g. : in Atlantic, 6 parameters and 4 seasons for each = 24 metadata Discovery interface Acces to metadata Geographic and thematic criteria The catalogue has been integrated with th Ocean Browser Viewing service so that users can select data products in the Sextant catalogue and the visualize, bowser and dowload these in the Ocean Browser Acces to data in Ocean Browser EMODnet Chemistry 3 – Trieste, 17/05/2017
Emodnet Sextant catalogue - current status A workflow has been set up to publish Eutrophication maps descriptions 1. XML generated by divadoXML (ULG) by Regional Leaders 2. XML imported, updated and submitted via the Sextant interface by Regional Leaders 3. Product descriptions validated by the catalogue manager (OGS) -> public visualisation The Sextant entries also contain aknowledgements to the data originators (derived by a web service from the CDI service) that have contributed with their data sets to each products Each partner is registered as an administrator A divadowml-gui has been developed that facilitates the generation of sextant xml entries for each data product as generated by the regional coordinator groups using the DIVA software for interpolated sea basin maps. The Sextant entries also contain aknowledgements to the data originators (derived by a web service from the CDI service) that have contributed with their data sets to each products EMODnet Chemistry 3 – Trieste, 17/05/2017
Sextant catalogue - new products Describe the products of the 3 tasks of WP3 WP3.1 – Updated data collections and DIVA maps for eutrophication Which granularity : No more by season with redundant metadata? Only by parameter, by region? WP3.2 – Harmonised, aggregated and validated data collections and DIVA maps on contaminant WP3.3 – Concentration maps of Marine and beach Litter EMODnet Chemistry 3 – Trieste, 17/05/2017
Sextant catalogue upgrade A new release of Sextant is available : new look, more responsive and more dynamic Parameter Discovery Vocabulary – PO2 Aggregated parameter names – P35 Data provider Other search criteria : By marine regions By seasons … http://www.ifremer.fr/isi/sextant/pages/EMODNET_CHEMISTRY.html To do : Upgrade the EMODnet-Sextant catalogue interface EMODnet Chemistry 3 – Trieste, 17/05/2017
Sextant catalogue upgrade A new release of Geonetwork software is available New editor to harmonize metadata profile between projects To do : Upgrade the metadata editor - in progress Create a new editor guide EMODnet Chemistry 3 – Trieste, 17/05/2017
Sextant catalogue – other ideas Sextant is now available as an API (Application Programming Interface) The API could offer a better integration of the catalogue in the EMODnet website Maps gallery Sextant can be used to set up a maps gallery through the catalogue New editor to harmonize metadata profile between projects EMODnet Chemistry 3 – Trieste, 17/05/2017
