The digestive system The ultimate journey

The first steps Hi, I'm an apple. I'm about to go down the digestive system, This man is eating me…… What is that? oh no it’s the mooouuuttthh……!

The legendary adventure What are these white hard things that I’m getting chewed with. I’ll search it up on applepedia when I get home. Actually, I know it’s the teeth. With the hard enamel on the outside.

The mouth I’m inside the mouth, the great gnashing teeth digging into me, I’m getting flung around the mouth with the moist rubbery tongue. I’ve been crushed into a load of pieces. I’m swiftly moving to the oesophagus. Aaarrrggghhh!!! I’ve just been swallowed!!

oesophagus I’m being squeezed down the oesophagus, down and down into the dark cave, it smells from where junk food has been in it.

stomach I am being held in the stomach, and I’m being Forced THROUGH IT by the stomach muscles. I’m turning into a liquid called chime, which Is slowly dripping into the small intestine.

Small intestine Did you know? The small intestine is nearly the length of a double decker bus!! It is slippery like a slide , wet, sloppy , bumpy and pink - and all the nutrients are being taken out through the intestinal walls and only the waste is left. Even though it is longer than the large intestine, it is called the small intestine because it is thinner. Then I move into the large intestine for further processing.

Large intestine The large intestine is like the small intestine, but has more room to stretch and keep me fit. The large intestine does not feel as long as the small intestine. it feels cold because I am getting near to the end of my journey. I wonder when I will come out? The remaining water is being absorbed and the left over waste is being squashed in to poo!

the last step And you know what happens next………. The end!!!..... !
