YEAR 8 DRAMA Skills

Think of a name for your group Think of a name for your group. You will be in this group for the session.

As a group discuss what makes Drama fun and write in your own book As a group discuss what makes Drama fun and write in your own book. What do you want to get out of Drama this semester?

Respect and be supportive of each other. Listen. Have a go. Be constructive. Work as a team. Have fun. Answer the above questions and then create your own set of rules you think should be followed in a Drama classroom.

Activity 1 Split the class into two groups and using the methods on the following slide, be the first group to get into the given order.

In a nutshell What worked and why?

Devising activity.

Characters. Posture. Facial expression. Levels. In groups of 4 create a freeze frame of a bus stop thinking about different types of characters and the following: Facial expression. Posture. Levels. Characters.

Now create a freeze frame of… 1) Last goal in AFL footy final 2) Opening presents on Christmas day 3) A funeral 4) VCE results day

What’s going on? Choose one of the freeze frames you just looked at and in small groups discuss what’s going on in the image. Create 4 more freeze frames that tell your story. Two that occur before and two that occur after the original freeze frame. Add them all together with the original one to present your story to the class.
