Curved multiplanar maximal intensity projection of the left main coronary artery and left anterior descending artery demonstrates calcific atherosclerotic plaques at the origin of the LAD and in the mid-LAD at the origin of the third diagonal branch. At cardiac catheterization, the more proximal plaque was 50% stenosed and the more distal plaque was 90% stenosed; a stent was subsequently placed. Source: Chapter 5.
