Ministry In The Work Place By LifeQuality International Course Overview Developed by: Joyce Beckett & Charles Patricoff Slide 1, December, 2003 © 2003 LifeQuality International

© 2003 LifeQuality International Course Theme Verse “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” -2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV) The idea of an ambassador: Webster “an official of the highest rank who represents his government in the capital of another country”. In the Greek, the word is “presbeuo” and means to act as a senior representative. What implications do these definitions have for us as believers? What appeal is God making through us? What is the significance of the admonition to “be reconciled to God”? Slide 2, December, 2003 © 2003 LifeQuality International

© 2003 LifeQuality International The Work Place… “The workplace is God’s place, and his place is just as much there as in the church prayer meeting. The workplace is a place of opportunity-a place to express the compassion of the gospel in word and deed, to challenge non-biblical thinking and practice, to grow in faith and character and love.” -- Mark Green Thank God It’s Monday Slide 3, December, 2003 © 2003 LifeQuality International

© 2003 LifeQuality International The Challenge… “I long to see Christians go out expectantly to work and come home exhilarated—like Jesus at the well, so empowered and thrilled by his ministry to the Samaritan woman that though his disciples urged him to eat something, he responded by saying that ‘he had food to eat that you know nothing about’” --Mark Greene Slide 4, December, 2003 © 2003 LifeQuality International

© 2003 LifeQuality International The Opportunity… Jesus goes on to say, “My food…is to do the will of him who sent me and finish his work. Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest?’ I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” For many Christians, the workplace is a harvest field. This class study will be about working there. Slide 5, December, 2003 © 2003 LifeQuality International
