COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will offer an emphasis on the art forms of ceramics and sculpture. Students will explore all of the media encompassing these three-dimensional art forms. This course will meet every day for one full year. Prerequisite: Art 1 / Foundations of Art

CLASS EXPECTATIONS: Students will be to class on time and prepared. All sketches and projects will be turned in on their assigned due dates. Students will respect the artwork of others in the classroom. No food or drink is allowed in the art room! All supplies will be taken care of properly, cleaned, and put away at the end of each class. Points will be deducted if needed. Check Moodle regularly for weekly sketchbook assignments, project due dates, and other materials needed for class.

Sketchbook: Students will keep a required sketchbook which will hold notes, writings, as well as sketches for projects. Students will be asked to complete sketches for upcoming projects, as well as research artists, complete writings and summaries on a weekly basis. These will each be worth 10 points.

GRADING: Students will be given a daily participation grade of a possible two points each class period. Projects will be graded using an Assessment Rubric. Students will be asked to write a few reflection questions about their assignments and talk about their artwork during a formal critique when completed.
