Arrangements for the visit Year 7 Visit to Lincoln Arrangements for the visit Thursday 29 June 2017

Lincoln Cathedral You will be taken on a guided tour of the Cathedral. This will last about an hour. The staff here are good friends of the College and excellent behaviour is expected

East Window Nave The Imp Angel Choir You will be shown some of the most stunning examples of medieval architecture Angel Choir

Lincoln Castle

You will also see the brand new exhibition of one of only 4 surviving copies of the original Magna Carta of 1215AD in the world – an amazing 801 years old! People come from all over the world to see it… it even went on tour to the USA!

And if the queues are not TOO bad, there is a special visitor to the castle “on tour” around the country – the original and genuine DOMESDAY book- only 951 years old……

Dress You will be expected to wear school uniform during the day and you must also have suitable waterproof coats, as we will be touring Lincoln Castle outdoors for part of the time. You may wear trainers which will be suitable to wear around the Castle grounds. Food You will require a packed lunch and a drink during the day. Please ensure that any drink is carried in a safe container. Packed lunches can be provided for children who would normally receive free school lunches.

No eating No chewing gum go to the toilet before starting Transport Students will travel to school by normal school transport and register with their form tutors in the usual way. We intend to leave school around 9:00am. We shall be returning from Lincoln around 5pm and the children will be dropped off at the front of the College to be collected by parents. Traffic conditions may cause delays so this is only an approximate time. No eating No chewing gum go to the toilet before starting Wear seat belts

You will be paying tourist prices Money All entrance fees are already paid for, but you may take a small amount of money to buy souvenirs in the Cathedral and Castle shops. But remember….. You will be paying tourist prices If you lose your money the school is not liable to replace it.

Additional Equipment This will be a working day you children will need to bring a pen/pencil. If you have your own clipboard you can bring it with you, but you can use a ring binder folder. You will not be allowed to bring personal stereos. If you wish to bring a camera, you may do so, but the school will not accept any liability for damage or loss of such equipment. Mobile phones can be brought only if you need to contact parents at the end of the day to arrange collection. However, the College accept no responsibility for their loss or damage

Medical The journey to Lincoln will take about 1½ hours. If you are prone to travel sickness, you must ensure you seat yourself towards the front of the coach whilst if you take any form of medication, you must make the necessary arrangements before the trip and notify the teachers so that any medication can be administered safely.

Keep Safe! You must always be as safe as possible, especially when walking through the city. Don’t run or mess about here… it is dangerous! Be polite to everyone you meet. This is a busy tourist area! Follow ALL INSTRUCTIONS given to you by the teachers. Poor behaviour is unacceptable and will be reported to parents!
