Persuasive Outline: Conclusion “Summarize your 3 Reasons” 7th Grade ELA

This Tutorial Will Focus On… Purpose of summarizing your three reasons in your conclusion. How you should summarize your three reasons. An example of summarizing your three reasons in a conclusion.

Purpose of Summarizing Three Reasons The purpose of summarizing your three reasons in your conclusion is to remind your reader what your main points were in the essay. You are emphasizing the importance of your reasons in the conclusion. Again, you do not want to bring up any new information in your conclusion. Conclusions are meant to review all the key points you discussed.

How to Summarize Your Three Reasons? Look at your three reasons that you came up with. You can find your reasons on your brainstorm or you can look at your three topic sentences in your body paragraphs. OR

Example of Summarizing Three Reasons Example Writing Prompt Example Summarizing Three Reasons Most schools require students to have a set amount of homework from all of their classes. Write an essay discussing whether or not students should or should not have homework in school. As exemplified through this essay, homework is necessary to instill responsibility in students. Homework helps prepare students for the work load they will face in the real world. Lastly, homework is important because it helps students comprehend class concepts. Reason #1 Reason #2 Reason #3 **Remember, you should word your reasons differently then how they’re seen in your topic sentences. **

Now You Try! Now that you’ve learned what you need to know to summarize your three reasons, give it a try! Remember, your summarized three reasons in your conclusions shouldn’t be worded just like in your topic sentences. Otherwise you’ll sound repetitive.
