Worship Like You Are in Heaven

Worship Challenges There is a constant challenge to worship God with the right actions – the WHAT and the WHEN of worship There is a constant challenge to worship God with the right attitudes – the HOW and the WHY of worship

Worship in Revelation The wicked on earth worship demons (9:20), the dragon (13:4), and the beast (13:8, 12, 15; 14:7,11; 16:2; 19:20; 20:4) The righteous on earth worship God (11:1; 14:7; 19:10; 22:8-9) The hosts of heaven worship God (4:10; 5:14; 7:11; 11:16; 15:4; 19:4)

Worship in Revelation We are given a picture of how and why the heavenly hosts worship God We need to worship God now on earth with the attitudes of worship that we see displayed in heaven (cf. 5:8) Worshipping with heavenly attitudes will keep us from formalism, ritualism, boredom, discontentment, absenteeism, etc.

Worship Like in Heaven Revelation 7:9-16 - we need to worship God in purity and with a sense of service (1 Tim. 2:8; Rom. 12:1) Revelation 11:15-18 - we need to worship God with a sense of gratitude and thankfulness (Psa. 100:4)

Worship Like in Heaven Revelation 12:10-12 - we need to worship God while remembering that the Devil is our adversary (Jas. 4:7-12) Revelation 15:2-4 - we need to worship God by praising him for his greatness (1 Tim. 1:17)

Worship Like in Heaven Revelation 19:1-8 - we need to worship God with exceeding joy and rejoicing (Psa. 95:1-2; Lk. 24:52) Are you worshiping here and now like all those who worship God in heaven? Our attitudes in worship now, prepare us for worship in heaven!
