Brown 1 Samuel 1:8 Sunday Morning Service September 11, 2016 Give thanks to Pastor Fee and all leaders and congregants of Amazing Grace for receiving and ready to hear the word of God. I pray that the word will fall on good ground to all those here and abroad on the internet. Day of remembrance to those who loss family members and love ones in New York. THE SIGN OF THE TOWERS IS A TIME FOR AMERICA TO WAKE UP AND REPENT AND ALLOW GOD TO RESTORE ORDER IN THIS COUNTRY THROUGH PRAYER AND REPENTANCE TO THE LEAST TO THE GREATEST PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY.

1 Samuel 1:8-9 (NLT) 8 “What’s the matter, Hannah. ” Elkanah would ask 1 Samuel 1:8-9 (NLT) 8 “What’s the matter, Hannah?” Elkanah would ask. “Why aren’t you eating? Why be so sad just because you have no children? You have me—isn’t that better than having ten sons?” WHO REALLY KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH. CHURCH MEMBERS MEAN WELL BUT DO THEY ALWAYS KNOW REALLY HOW DEEP THE ISSUE IS? PROBLEMS AND DIFFERENT SORT OF THINGS MAY ARISE AND WE MAY EVEN TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT IT, BUT IN REALITY CAN THEY REALLY RELATE. ELKANAH BELIEVED HE UNDERSTOOD HIS WIFE AND THAT HE HE COULD OFFER HIMSELF AS THE SOLUTION. CAREFUL WHEN YOU SAY “BUT YOU GOT ME” I’M BIGGER AND BETTER THAN THAT PROBLEM YOU ARE GOING THROUGH. DEEP DOWN INSIDE YOU WOLD PROBALY SAY “THEY DON’T GET IT”

1 Samuel 1:4-5 (NLT) 4 On the day Elkanah presented his sacrifice, he would give portions of the sacrifice to Peninnah and each of her children. 5 But he gave Hannah a special portion* because he loved her very much, even though the Lord had given her no children. THERE WAS NO DOUBT THAT ELKANAH LOVED HANNAH MORE THAN PENINNAH DUE THE FAVOR HE SHOWED HER. THE BIBLE SAID HE ALWAYS GAVE HER A SPECIAL PORTION. WHATS THE PORTION HAS TO DO WITH IT? KNOW MATTER WHAT THE PORTION MAY BE ONLY GOD UNDERSTANDS EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED. A PORTION OF MEAT IS NOT THE ANSWER. ITS MUCH DEEPER THAN THAT. HAVE YOU BEEN IN THAT PLACE?

1 Samuel 1:6-7 (NLT) 6 But Peninnah made fun of Hannah because the Lord had closed her womb. 7 Year after year it was the same—Peninnah would taunt Hannah as they went to the Tabernacle.* Hannah would finally be reduced to tears and would not even eat. EVEN YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS WILL LOOK AT YOU STRANGE SOME MAY EVEN LAUGH LIKE PENINNAH DID. IMAGINE HANNAH WALKING AROUND THE HOUSE AND NOT BARREN ANY CHILDREN AND HERE’S PEMINNAH KICK BABY’S OUT LIKE RABBITS. THE BIBLE SAID IT WAS SO BAD IT REDUCED HANNAH TO TEARS. WHO CARES!!! NOBODY UNDERSTANDS!! IF SOME US WOULD NOT EAT WE KNOW THERE MUST BE BIG PROBLEM BECAUSE AMAZING GRACE CAN THROW DOWN WHEN IT COMES TO GET OUR GRUB ON.

1 Samuel 1:9-11(NLT) 9 Once when they were at Shiloh, Hannah went over to the Tabernacle* after supper to pray to the Lord. Eli the priest was sitting at his customary place beside the entrance. 10 Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord. 11 And she made this vow: “O Lord Almighty, if you will look down upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.”* ATTENDING THE HOUSE OF THE LORD THIS IS WHERE WE SOMETIMES MAKE VOWS AND FIND UNDERSTANDING WHAT GOD IS TELLING US. WE CAN COME TO TE ALTER WEEPING HAVING ALL HOPE THAT GOD IS HEARING OUR REQUEST AND SEEING OUR PAIN. GOD KNOWS YOUR PAIN!! HANNAH IS ASKING FOR A SON AND SHE IS WILLING TO GIVE HIM BACK TO GOD SO GOD CAN USE HIM. WHAT ARE YOU ASKING FOR CAR, HOUSE, JOB, SON, HUSBAND, WIFE, PROMOTION ETC.. HOW WOULD YOU GIVE BACK IF GOD GRANTED YOUR REQUEST RIGHT NOW!! CUTTING THE HAIR WAS SIGN OF BEING A NAZARITE, MEANING SEPARATE, DIFFERENT STRICTER LAWS PETAINED THEM AND NOT CUTTING THE HAIR WAS ONE OF THEM.

1 Samuel 1:12-16 (NLT) 12 As she was praying to the Lord, Eli watched her. 13 Seeing her lips moving but hearing no sound, he thought she had been drinking. 14 “Must you come here drunk?” he demanded. “Throw away your wine!” 15 “Oh no, sir!” she replied, “I’m not drunk! But I am very sad, and I was pouring out my heart to the Lord. 16 Please don’t think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.” IF YOU EVER PRAYED SO HARD AND SHOWED SO MUCH ANQUISH THAT THE FEE OR YOUR PASTOR THOUGHT YOU WERE DRUNK? HANNAH EXPLAINED I’M JUST POURING OUT MY HEART I GOT SOME THINGS I’M DEALING WITH. SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO COME BROKEN BEFORE THE LORD.

1 Samuel 1:17-18 (NLT) 17 “In that case,” Eli said, “cheer up 1 Samuel 1:17-18 (NLT) 17 “In that case,” Eli said, “cheer up! May the God of Israel grant the request you have asked of him.” 18 “Oh, thank you, sir!” she exclaimed. Then she went back and began to eat again, and she was no longer sad. BEING IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD IS A BENEFIT TO YOU. GOD PUT ELI THERE FOR A PURPOSE. ELI BELIEVED THE ISSUE WASN’T THAT BAD SO HE TOLD HER TO CHEER UP. ONCE AGAIN HE DIDN’T REALLY KNOW HER PAIN BUT THE WORDS OF A GODLY MAN AVEILETH MUCH. THAT’S ALL HANNAH NEEDED TO HEAR THAT THE MAN OF GOD SAID GO CHEER UP AND RECEIVE YOUR BLESSING. THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED IF HANNAH WOULD HAVE STAYED HOME. SAYING NOBODY KNOWS WHAT I’M GOING THROUGH SO WILL STAY HOME AND POUT, BUT INSTEAD SHE STILL MADE TO IT TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD. THE SAYING ALL THINGS WORK OUT FOR THE GOOD TO THOSE WHO WHO LOVE CHRIST.

1 Samuel 1:24-26 (NLT) 24 When the child was weaned, Hannah took him to the Tabernacle in Shiloh. They brought along a three-year-old bull* for the sacrifice and half a bushel* of flour and some wine. 25 After sacrificing the bull, they took the child to Eli. 26 “Sir, do you remember me?” Hannah asked. “I am the woman who stood here several years ago praying to the Lord. SOME STUDIES SHOW THAT SAMUEL WAS APPROX. 12 YEARS OLD WHEN HE WAS TAKEN TO THE TEMPLE TO BE WITH ELI. WE DO KNOW IT WAS SOME TIME LATER BECAUSE HANNAH WAS ASKING ELI IF SHE REMEBERED HIM FROM YEARS AGO. I BELIEVED ELI REMEBERED DUE TO HER AQUISH AND BELIEVING SHE WAS DRUNK THAT DAY. SOME THINGS YOU JUST DON’T FORGET. ALSO BECAUSE HE ALLOWED SAMUEL TO STAY WITH HIM IN THE TEMPLE, AND LEARN TO BECOME A TRUE MAN OF GOD AND GODLY WAYS.

1 Samuel 1:27-28 (NLT) 27 I asked the Lord to give me this child, and he has given me my request. 28 Now I am giving him to the Lord, and he will belong to the Lord his whole life.” And they* worshiped the Lord there. AFTER WAITING ALL THESE YEARS SHE GAVE BACK TO GOD WHAT SHE WANTED SO BADLY. How about us? DO WE REMEMBER THE PROMISE WE MADER GOD? HAVE THE YEARS GONE BUY WHERE YOU THINK THE PROMISE AND VOW HAS DOESN’T NEED TO BE UPHELD. EVEN WITH FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS, ETC

Psalms 9:12 (NLT) Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, have never abandoned anyone who searches for you. PSALMS 34:8  Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him! PSALMS 91:2 This I declare of the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him. PSALMS 71:5 5 O Lord, you alone are my hope. I’ve trusted you, O Lord, from childhood.

Proverbs 22:22 (NLT) Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong Proverbs 22:22 (NLT) Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the Lord to handle the matter. WHAT ABOUT OUR REVENGE? WE LOVE TO GET SOME GETBACK. WHEN GOD DOES IT, IT MUCH MORE SWEETER. YOU DON’T HERE ANYTHING ABOUT PENINNAH’S CHILDREN BECOMING GREAT IN THE KINGDOM OF ISRAEL. THEY DIDN’T LEAD AD ASSIST MIGHTY MEN AND KINGS IN BATTLE. SAMUEL WAS A PRIEST, PROFFET, SERVANT, LEADER, ADSIOR, . AFTER BEING ALL THIS HANNAH DIDN’T HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING TO PENINNAH BECAUSE HAD SAID ALL THROUGH THE SAMUEL’S LEADERSHIP AND LEGACY.

Isaiah 40:31 (NLT) But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS WE HAVE IS PATIENT BUT IF WEE LEARNED TO WAIT ON GOD GREAT THING WILL HAPPEN. I SEE HANNAH FLYING AROUND THE HOUSE WITH A GREAT SPIRIT LIKE A EAGLE IN THE SKY ALL BECAUSE SHE WAITED. RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE WITH A NEW BURST OF ENERGY, AND NOT EBEN GETTING TIRED. I ASK HANNAH NOW WHO KNOWS YOUR PAIN? LOOK AT ME AND WHO DO YOU THINK KNOWS MY PAIN?

Isaiah 30:18 (NLT) But the Lord still waits for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for him to help them. GOD IS SAYING I SEE AND I KNOW YOUR PAIN. COME TO ME AND I WILL HELP YOU. REQUEST A MUSICIAN TO BEGAN TO PLAY SOMETHING. THE ALTERS ARE OPEN COME MAKE YOUR REQUEST. INTERNET FAMILY I’M ASLO REAHING OUT TO YOU. IF YOU NEVER MET GOD OR SPOKE WITH HIM HERE IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY NOW. THE APOSTLE PETER WAS GIVEN THE KEYS TO THE CHURCH AND THIS IS WHAT HE SAID IN ACTS 2:38
