1 Experiment 1 shows how air pressure causes a piece of thick paper to cling to an upturned glass of water.

He told a story to everyone he met ,which surprised everyone.The story is as follows: A mariner describes a voyage he takes as a youth from an unnamed European country to the South Pole and back. On the voyage,he shoots a bird that flies above the ship. The wind dies down and sailors are thirsty. The other sailors are frightened and angry because

the bird is thought to bring good luck to the ship the bird is thought to bring good luck to the ship. And then all the mariners die except for the one who shot the bird. Because two gods decide that the mariner will live but must tell his story to everyone he meets in the rest of his life as a punishment. His story told,the ancient mariner says farewell and asks them to learn from his sufferings.And then the mariner is adrift(漂泊) in the

middle of the ocean, symbolically (象征) cut off all human companionship(友谊). The rime of the ancient mariner is Alone,alone, all, all alone, Alone on a wide wide sea! ( The “mysterious guest” is just the mariner.)
