Connect 4 You are going to work in pairs and evaluate whether these words are good or bad words to use for God. If you have a keyword with a plus sign you need to give one reason why it is a good word to use If you have a keyword with a minus sign you need to give one reason why it is a bad word to use. If you give a correct reason you can put a nought or a cross in the square. The winner is the first to get a line of 4.

Characteristics of God Revision Learning Objective: To revise the Characteristics of God unit. I can define the keywords in the unit. I can evaluate whether these are good or bad words for God. I can understand what makes a successful 3 mark AO2 exam answer.

A Successful 3 Mark AO2 Answer ‘People should only see God in one form.’ What do you think? Explain your opinion. 1. BUG the question and discuss it with the person next to you. 2. Read the model answer – what makes it successful? 3. Where do the marks come from?

‘People should only see God in one form. ’ What do you think ‘People should only see God in one form.’ What do you think? Explain your opinion. I agree because Jews, Christians and Muslims see God in one form because they think that dividing God in many forms would limit God and limit his power. Therefore, by only seeing God in one form it illustrates the oneness and uniqueness of God. Furthermore, in the Qur’an which are the words of God, it clearly states that ‘there is no God but Allah’. 1 mark for a simple point 2 marks for developing the point 3rd mark for adding another point

A Successful 3 Mark AO2 Answer ‘God cannot be both immanent and impersonal.’ What do you think? Explain your opinion. 1. BUG the question and discuss it with the person next to you. 2. Read the model answer – what makes it successful? 3. Where do the marks come from?

‘God cannot be both immanent and impersonal. ’ What do you think ‘God cannot be both immanent and impersonal.’ What do you think? Explain your opinion. 1 mark for a simple point I agree because the terms are total opposites and contradict each other. This is because God cannot be immanent and be closely involved in the world and care for everyone and be impersonal and be remote and unaffected by humans. Furthermore, I agree because God must just be an impersonal God to be allowing all of the pain and suffering in the world as an immanent God would not allow this. 2 marks for developing the point 3rd mark for adding another point
