American Association of Physics Teachers HEA Teacher Presentations American Association of Physics Teachers Presentations included: Terry Parent, Carson Middle School, “Integration of THEMIS and SSS (GEMS) into the middle school magnetism curriculum” Jim Bean, Carson High School, “Sharing and using THEMIS data with the GEONS program.” Highlights: a.) Interactions with research physicists, college professors, graduate students, undergraduate students, international students, and high school teachers. b.) Professors and teachers underscored importance of students getting hands-on experience collecting and analyzing real-time data c.) Physics professors and high school teachers liked how GEONS provided another way of understanding magnetic fields and supplemented course materials Blue dots show the locations of the 10 magnetormeters located in schools. Red dots show the locations of ground-based observatories which have all-sky cameras and magnetometers. 4

HEA Teacher Presentations Participants created a 3D Magnetosphere for use in the class room.
