What is the aim of the game? The aim of the game is to score points. Points are scored when you hit a shuttlecock over the net and it lands in your opponents court.

SCORING rules When the shuttlecock touches the floor after: Service, Ralley and a team makes an error, Or “out of bounds.” A point is awarded.

SCORING rules The team that won the point serves for the next point. The match lasts for 3 games of 21 points.

Players are not permitted to touch any part of the net. Badminton RULES SHUTTLECOCK The shuttlecock cannot be hit more than once. The shuttlecock must not hit any other piece of the indoor stadium (the roof or the walls for example). The game is still “in play” when the shuttlecock hits the net and makes it to the opposing side. PLAYERS Players are not permitted to touch any part of the net.

SERVICE The player must not step on the service line. Badminton RULES SERVICE The player must not step on the service line. When the serve is played the shuttlecock must be hit below waist height. The serve must be hit in a diagonal direction towards the opposite side of the court Even numbers (0,2,4…) are served from the right side, odd numbers (1,3,5…) are played from the left. Singles: Only one serve permitted. Doubles: The first player serves and if unsuccessful, a second serve is allowed by the second player (second service).

Badminton movements OVERHEAD: WHEN YOU HIT THE SHUTTLECOCK ABOVE YOUR HEAD. UNDERARM: WHEN YOU HIT THE SHUTTLECOCK FROM BENEATH YOUR HIPS. FOREHAND: WHEN YOU HIT THE SHUTTLECOCK WITH THE FRONT OF YOUR HAND FACING THE NET. BACKHAND: WHEN YOU HIT THE SHUTTLECOCK WITH THE BACK OF YOUR HAND FACING THE NET.

CLEAR BADMINTON SKILLS When you hit the shuttlecock from your backline to the opponents backline. This hit is effective to make your opponent move to the back of the court.

BADMINTON SKILLS LOB When you are standing close to the net, you hit the shuttlecock over your opponent´s head to land in the court.

BADMINTON SKILLS DROP When you hit the shuttlecock over the net and it lands very close to the net.

SMASH BADMINTON SKILLS This is the most powerful strike where you use power to smash the shuttlecock into the opponent´s side of the court.
