IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” A Godess of love and affection, pure, pious, dedicated and committed, we look up to her as mother of our District. Six new clubs were formed in her tenure .1. Saharanpur, 2.Najiabad, 3.Modi Nagar, 4.Kalka 5.Kaithal , 6. Karnal.   , Kudos: • For the first time Chairman's News letter was started in Hindi. • Rs. 1.6 Lacs was collected for cancer project. • Under inter District exchange programme large number of delegates from other districts visited us. IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” An optimistic, good-natured and sociable person who carried out various successful events during her tenure. • Panipat club was chartered and there was a 25% rise in the membership. • Launched the Immunization project in the District. • Organized a very successful Intercity along with Rotary on DOWRY OR DEATH. Distinguished speakers like I.R.P Raja Saboo Union minister V.P. Sathe, and Kiran Bedi graced the occasion and shared their views on eradication of the evil Mrs. Swarn Kanwar 1982-83 (District 308) "UNDERSTANDING & PEACE"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” The new inner Wheel District 308 came into existence on 1s1 July 1985 as a result of bifurcation of District 309 and 310.The new district comprised of sixteen clubs. Gorgeous, elegant, lively and meticulous PDC Nira Nath is the founder Chairman - of District 308. • Two clubs IWC Salon and Nahan were revived. • 150 members were added to the District. • Friendly links were established with 23 Districts in India and 30 districts abroad. • Attended the IIW Convention in Orlando U.S.A. MRS. NIRA NATH 1985-86 (District 308) "CO-OPERATE"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” Dr. (Mrs.) sunita Saluja took over from Mrs. Nira Nath. She described the year as the year of' dedicated work and warm fellowship. She gave a separate theme to the District 'Participate" Inner Wheel District 308 now comprised of 27 clubs. Kudos:Some very prestigious projects were taken up,a very unique idea of compiling of a directory containing the names , addresses ,telephone numbers , DOB and DOA of IW members was started .This directory has become a permanent feature in District 308. DR. SUNITA SALUJA 1986-87 (District 308) "IDENTIFY"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” Mrs. Kanan DIwan gave the slogan" Seva Parmodharam". Under her able guidance all the clubs worked whole hcartedly to achieve the goal of Seva Parmodharam they contributed towards Polio Plus Project &cancer project which was initiated in that year. She was the founder secretary of IWC Shimla the very first club of District 308 which was founded in the year 1967. MRS. KANAN DIWAN 1987-88 (District 308) "HAVE PATIENCE"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” When Mrs. Bhuvan Rana took over as District Chairman the geographical area of the District embraced part of Punjab, U.T Chandigarh, Haryana, U.P and part of H.P. Total no. of clubs were 26 and the effective membership of the District had gone up to 563. Under her able guidance main emphasis was laid on Mother and child care. A number of informative books on the subject were published by various clubs for guidance and information to the clubs and general public Incoming Chairman's institute was hosted by IWC Shimla, members gave home hospitality to delegates from 23 Districts for three days. MRS. BHUVAN RANA 1985-86 (District 308) "PROTECT CHILDREN THEY ARE THE FUTURE"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” At the time when PDC kuldip Kalra took over the district comprised of 27 clubs & 620 members.the clubs & district worked in close co-operation with Rotary. Blood donation camps, immunization of children was carried out. Construction of a portion of maternity hospital,water tanks,bus stop, shelters for deaf & dumb children were built .The district adopted three cancer patients. Past rotary international President Raja Saboo was Felicitated as he was nominated as Rotary international president at that time. Kudos: To Dr. Devangna who presented an audio cassette of IW prayer sung by her. MRS. KULDIP KALRA 1989-90 (District 308) "PUT YOUT HEART INTO IT"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” PAP is the Pride of our district, In her year as District chairman two new clubs were formed.it as during her time that two new sub committees namely "Art & Culture &Health , Yoga nature care " were added. District rally held by IWC Panipat was a roaring success as it was attended by 7oo people including IW dignitaries from neighbouring districts.a number of seminars cun workshops were held on vocational training and career guidance. Under Friendship exchange progg. A trip to kathmandu Nepal was taken. New trophies were donated to the District. She kept moving ahead in IW and in the year 1995-1996 was elected vice president , Association of Inner Wheel clubs in India, & further adorned the Crown of Association President. PAP MRS. IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” It was during the chairmanship of PDC Dr. Devangana that IW Conference was hosted for the first time independently. There was a gala pre night dinner which V.V.I.P' s of the district attended. Rs 30,000/- was donated by her towards the construction of a delivery room at the civil hospital in Ambala. An IW Prayer cassette was prepared by her in a studio & given to all club Presidents as a token of love on her official visit to clubs. All the district functions at her time were were very well conducted & attended. Felicitations to you all on the occasion of MAHA SHIVRATRI , & HOLI. DR. MRS. DEVANGNA 1991-92 (District 308) "TAKE TIME"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” When PDC Usha Jain took over there were 27 clubs in the district. Usha ji was the founder Editor of District 308. In her tenure to create better "understanding" amongst members two Intercity District Conferences, Assembly, District Level Polio Plus workshop cum training seminars on functional literacy were held. Inter district service of training to needy ladies project was started at PG.! Chandigarh. 27 eye camps, 42 medicals check up camps were held. Two charter LO two new clubs 1WC Parwanoo, IWC Paonta Sahib. A new club Jagadhri North was formed. MRS. USHA JAIN 1992-93 (District 308) "UNDERSTANDING"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” A record collection of Rs. 1,45,511/- was made by the District for 'Health Assistant Training Project' and all India Inter District Dessert contest was organized. A book The Winning Collection of Desserts was published. The funds raised by the sales of the book were used for community projects. Two new clubs 1WC Bhakra Nangal , IWC Chandigarh Central was formed & charter was presented. A District flag was designed with the names of all the clubs& released by 11W President Mrs. Anita Aggarwal. A specially designed file "Welcome to Inner Wheel & Inner Wheel Literature" was presented to each and every member. DR. MRS. RASHMI THAKRAL 1993-94 (District 308) "EXPAND TO SERVE BETTER"

IIW Theme 2012-2013 “Be a friend” Renu ji is the pride of District 308 . She did a number of projects during her tenure. She was unanimously elected Association Secretary for the year 1995- 1996.She was AP in 1999-2000 and 11W Board Director in the year 2001-2002. It was during her tenure that she hosted institute of incoming Chairmen at Shimla, under her able guidance the District worked on the Projects of Care fol- • the girl child, Street Children& child labour.
