Since 2005, YBUSA Green Initiative has… Granted over $3.5M for green activities, $40K for graduate green entrepreneurs Delivered over 75 training events to over 1,300 staff and students Certified over 600 construction trainers in HBI PACT, NCCER, BPI, MC3 which has led to thousands of student certifications

To date, YouthBuild programs have… Built/rehabbed 4,564 green units Built 2,350 ENERGY STAR homes Weatherized 3,376 homes Placed 648 graduates in green jobs

2015: Earth Day’s 45th Anniversary Earth Day – April 22nd 1970: The First Earth Day April 22nd, 1970 20 million Americans took to the street and launched the modern environmental movement. Earth Day was crucial in passing the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act 2015: Earth Day’s 45th Anniversary It’s Our Turn To Lead Celebrated in 192 countries by over 1 billion people Largest civic observance in the world Continues to be an important tool to engage the public and grow the green economy

Earth Day – April 22nd · Week’s worth of curriculum for students aligned with NGSS and Common Core Standards. · Fun service learning for Earth Day. · EDN’s iTextbook on climate change, the first of its kind. · Range of interactive activities – from energy efficiency action plans to community engagement projects. 

Earth Day – April 22nd Acts of Green: Energy audits Implementing energy efficient practices in your home, school, or place of work Community cleanups Engaging with your governmental officials about sustainability practices you believe will make a difference
