THE MEMBER’S BENEVOLENT TRUST The MBT is an independent charity (No 207184) devoted to the relief of members, retired members and their dependants. It works closely with the IOM3 membership department to identify need and the Institute helps with the collection of donations via the Gift Aid scheme. Management is through a Board of Elected Trustees Main Board There may be up to 18 Trustees on the Board, a third of whom retire each year. Currently there are only 15 Trustees, with 5 retiring and standing for re-election at the AGM on 12 July. So now is a good time to consider becoming a Trustee The Full Board meets twice a year in March and November and members usually attend the AGM Finance Committee A Finance Committee meets before the main Board and before the AGM
New Honorary Treasurer The MBT is seeking an IOM3 member to take on the role of Honorary Treasurer from July 2011. The new Honorary Treasurer will be taking over a well established system The current Honorary Treasurer is standing down at the MBT AGM But he is staying on as a Trustee and will be available for a detailed handover and for any subsequent advice. The new Honorary Treasurer would be expected to stand for election as a Trustee at the AGM.
Call for Nominations to the Board of Trustees of the MBT At MBT AGM on 12th July 2011, there will be 8 vacancies to be filled on the Board of Trustees Nominations for election to the Board are invited from the membership of the Institute.
