Short introduction to the FRA Created: 2007, Council Regulation 167/2007. Provide assistance and expertise to EU institutions and Member States to support them in fully respecting fundamental rights when implementing EU law. Collecting and analysing objective, reliable and comparable data on a variety of fundamental rights issues in the EU. Networking with partner organisations and ensuring that the research carried out by the FRA is relevant to their needs. Communicating its evidence-based advice to partner organisations and the general public and raising awareness of fundamental rights.

Frontex/FRA Cooperation Arrangement – 27 May 2010 Strengthen the respect of fundamental rights in the field of border management. Including, but not limited to: Joint Operations; Risk Analysis; Training on Fundamental Rights for border guards; Research; Return; Training on fundamental rights for Frontex staff; Work programmes and action plans.

Three dimensions of discussion for today Determine what Civil and Public Service would find useful in development and delivery of human rights training, and how this can be incorporated into organisational practice for improved protection and promotion of fundamental rights; Determining how enhanced service delivery can be fed into policy-making processes; Discussing how to maximise the roles of FRA and NHRIs in delivery of human rights education and training to Civil and Public Service.
