Beannachtaí na Nollag oraibh Ahiohill N.S. Christmas Newsletter 2016 A note from the Principal; As another successful term in Ahiohill N.S. comes to a close, I want to thank our wonderful staff for their continuous hard work. A huge thank you also to the parent body and community for your support, and to the P.A. and the B.O.M. for their huge dedication. Together I believe we make a powerful team in creating this positive, safe and successful learning environment for the children of Ahiohill. A massive congratulations to the children on the fantastic Christmas concert they took part in this year – such a wonderful display of talents! We are extremely proud of them. Finally I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and health and happiness to you all this New Year Mrs Hodnett Our Amber Flag Notice Board Our year to date; The children have; - Completed Irish dancing lessons - Showcased their skipping skills in a ‘Skip N Rope’ workshop - Learned to play basketball with our new and improved hoop - Attended Enrolment for their First Holy Communion (2nd class) - Viewed a movie on Henry Ford in Ballinascarthy (5th and 6th ) Took part in a mini games workshop (infants to 1st) Played a 7 a side football blitz in Kilmeen (3rd-6th) Played Maths games from the Lifetime Lab in Ballinacarriga N.S (4th -6th ) Helped other children in poorer countries with our shoe box appeal - Became models for our school photographer! - Created an Amber flag committee to raise awareness of Mental Health in our school Demonstrated their acting, singing and dancing skills at our Christmas Concert Dates to remember; School closes Thurs Dec. 22nd @ 12 noon School reopens on Mon.
