The Basics 2 campuses Full time school counselor/full time AP at Annex Number of staff at Annex/Main Campus Number of students at Annex/Main Campus Two semesters Ninth graders may be shuttled to Main Campus for 3rd and/or 4th period classes - designated on their schedules All buses leaving the Annex in the afternoon report to the Main Campus

Attendance Requirements Parents may excuse absences by phone or by note NO MORE than 5 times in combination per semester. There shall be no makeup work for students who are unlawfully absent. After five days, any unlawful absence cannot be changed to a lawful absence. Students having 5 unlawful absences per semester may lose course credit. Vacation requests must have advanced approval from the Principal.

Graduation Requirements 4 English 3 Math - Enrolled in a Math course each year 3 Science – Biology, Chemistry, Physics 3 Social Studies ½ Physical Education ½ Health 1 Fine Arts 1 Technology Credit 4 courses for pathway requirement Electives TOTAL: 26 Credits
Graduation Requirements Sophomore- 5 credits Junior- 12 credits Senior- 18 credits A student must pass a class in order to gain credit (minimum passing score 60%)
Pathways Pathway requirement for QACPS-will be selected in 10th grade 22 pathways from which to choose Some require classes to be taken at QACHS Complete list within POS
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering and Biomedical Must be started in the 10th grade-Engineering only Total of 5 classes - Engineering only Helps to make Math and Science relevant to students Math and Science must be taken all 4 years Hands-on, real world projects www.pltw.org Colleges may award credit Weighted Grades for concentrator and completer courses
Service Learning Queen Anne’s County has an infused model for service learning Each student will complete two projects within their regular curriculum Projects are completed in American History and English I Students are notified by the Service Learning Coordinator if they do not meet the requirement
High School Assessments Graduation Requirements Government HSA Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA)? PARCC assessments Algebra I English II Student will also participate in the Algebra II and English III PARCC assessments.
