NW Regional Forum Conference 2016 Welcome

There are a few things we want to tell you about so you can get involved and have some fun…..

Gingerbread People Find a Gingerbread Person shape. Decorate it – maybe draw your own face? Write or draw a message of support for the Campaign. Stick your Gingerbread person onto the bus. We will send the bus back to the Justice Shed with Richard after Conference

Makaton Challenge You will have been given a team answer sheet. You need to find each member of the conference team and work out what they are signing. Write your answer in the box then get together with your team and make sure you have them all. Post a complete form into the post box in the conference room. One entry per team.

Makaton Challenge Try using as many of the signs that you can remember while you are at conference – it’s the only way to learn. Final challenge Can your team make a sentence to sign to conference? We will ask each team on the last day if they want to sign their sentence to the room. And the winners We will pick 2 correct entries from the box and each team member will win a Regional Forum calendar

Questionnaire Lancaster University want some advice to help improve how prescriptions and medicines are used. Can you fill in a questionnaire? It needs to be done today. Put your entries in the box at the back.

Questionnaire Make sure you put your name on it though. We will pick 10 lucky winners from the box who will win £20 CASH each. The draw will be TONIGHT at the Gala dinner.

Manchester People First Manchester People First will be around to get your thoughts and ideas on what you think of services in your area.  We would like to get as many of your thoughts down as possible about what is good and what is not so good so the bosses know what you think.

Manchester People First These will be written down in speech bubbles so the big bosses can see and read them when they come to conference on Thursday. Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire, Warrington, Wirral and Merseyside will use different coloured paper so you can find out easily what people in your area think.

Representatives Must be committed to coming to meetings Must be interested in the subject Must be willing to listen to other people, speak up for people with a learning disability and report back to the Forum about what you have been doing.

Think That’s for you? Make a poster. Make sure you write your name and why you think you would be a good representative on it – however you want to. Give your poster to one of the team from Pathways. You can nominate yourself for more than one group.

Voting If there are more people than vacancies conference will need to vote. We will tell you tomorrow when conference opens which groups you need to vote for and how you can vote.

Nominations Nominations OPEN now and CLOSE at 8 pm Wednesday 24th February. Nominations will not be accepted after this time.
