Western Line Triangular Shaped Arrangement St. Patrick’s Day Theme

Introduction This will be a one sided arrangement. The arrangement is a typical triangular shape. Customers may purchase this arrangement for display in the home or office, or as a gift. This arrangement may sell in a retail flower shop for $30 – $45.

Foliage and Flowers 5-6 stems of Lemon Leaf 2 stems of Variegated Pittosporum 3 stems of Bells of Ireland 3 stems of white Stock 1 stem of purple Flowering Kale 3 stems white Lisianthus 3 stems white Alstromeria 3 stems white Freesia 3 stems white Monte Casino Aster

Tools and Materials Needed 1/3 brick of floral foam 1 clear vinyl liner 1 basket Floral shears/snips

Container Preparation Soak 1/3 of a brick of floral foam thoroughly. Secure the clear vinyl liner into the basket. Insert floral foam into the clear vinyl liner and fill half way with water.

Greening Make sure all leaves are removed from the portion of the stem (approx. ½” – 1”) that will be inserted in the floral foam. Use 3 stems of Lemon Leaf to create the outline of the triangle shape.

Greening Remaining foliage stems should be cut in half or thirds. Insert smaller stems of Lemon Leaf and Variegated Pittosporum into the floral foam to fill in the shape, hide the foam. Make sure both the front and back of the arrangement are fully greened.

Line Flowers Insert line flowers of Stock and Bells of Ireland first to create the triangle shape of the arrangement.

Form and Mass Flowers Insert focal point flower, Flowering Kale, into the floral foam. The focal point should be low and centered in the arrangement. Begin to add in mass flowers, Lisianthus, to fill in the shape of the arrangement.

Mass Flowers Continue inserting mass flowers, Lisianthus, Alstromeria, and Freesia into the arrangement. Flowers should be equally distributed throughout the triangle arrangement shape.

Filler Flowers Insert filler flowers, Monte Casino Aster, between the other mass flowers. Be sure to maintain the triangle shape of the arrangement.

Finishing Touches Mist the arrangement with Crowning Glory and fill clear vinyl liner with water.
