Macbeth Macbeth was written by William Shakespeare. The story takes place in Scotland many centuries ago. The main characters are Macbeth, who was ambitious but weak, and his wife,Lady Macbeth, who was ambitious but strong. Other characters are Duncan, the King of Scotland, and Macduff, the supporter of Duncan. Macmeth wanted to become the King of Scotland, so he killed the real King,Duncan. He did not want to but Lady Macbeth made him. He thought Macduff might try to stop him. Therefore, he sent men to kill him but Macduff escaped. The men killed Macduff’s wife and children. Macduff brought the English army and attacked Macbeth. Finally, Macduff killed Macbeth.
